Driving Licence Changes 8th June 2015

1. What are your vehicles' excesses and deposits?
Insurance is subject to a damage liability which varies according to vehicle size.

Damage liability reduction (reducing the damage liability to £150 for cars and £350 for vans) is available for an additional cost but is not available to a driver who are aged between 23-24, or 70-75 or for any overseas hire. Please see our Terms and Conditions for further information and costs.

2. The Online Price; What does it include?
The Online Price is fully inclusive of VAT, Road Tax and Insurance.

3. What are your opening hours?
Open Monday-Friday 8-5.30, Saturday 8-12

5. What are your insurance restrictions?
25 - 70 years, standard conditions apply (23 - 24 and 71 - 75 year old drivers accepted for rental subject to special conditions, surcharge and/or insurance approval).

A full driving license must have been held for at least one year (23 to 24 at least 2 years). Endorsed licenses will be accepted at the discretion of 55 CARRENTAL.

Rates include comprehensive insurance with an excess of £500 to £750 (£1500 for overhead damage to vans).

6. What is the 55 Car Rental Cancellation Policy?
Our company will do its best to have the vehicle which is the subject of a confirmed reservation available on the day and at the time you have requested. If you decide, however, to cancel your reservation or do not arrive to collect your reserved vehicle on the day and at the time you have reserved it, charges may be made and these are explained in our Terms and Conditions.

7. What documents do I need to provide on collection of the vehicle?
When collecting a vehicle please bring the following with you:
  • Your full valid current driving license, assuming it.s a UK one your photocard part and the green paper counterpart, if it is a foreign national license please advise us upon booking to ensure we can accept.
  • a guaranteed method of payment for the rental and deposit (see payment terms below)
  • 2 forms of identification other than license as proof of home address e.g. Utility bill and bank statement, not older than 3 months

8. What are your Payment Terms?
The full rental plus refundable deposit is required when the vehicle is collected. We accept most major credit and debit cards. We do not accept cash or cheques.

9. What is the fueling policy?
All vehicles are rented as the fuel tank stands at the start of the hire and customers should return the same at the end of hire, unless otherwise agreed. If it is not agreed customers would be charged for missing fuel at the end of the rental at the locally determined price at our counter.

10. Can we add an Additional Driver to the vehicle?
Yes, we charge £5 per day rental per additional driver, negotiable on 14day+ hires.

12. Do you Deliver & Collect the vehicle?
We can arrange this on a local basis during our working hours, at a convenient time to suit you, at a cost of £15 Home delivery and £15 Home collection, plus vat.

13. Satellite Navigation - Can you supply Sat-Nav?
We can supply Tom Tom One Satellite Navigation devices for £10.00 per day.

14. Do you offer Contract Hire or Long Term Hire?
We will be pleased to give quotations for this on request.

15. Can you supply a trolley to aid the movement of larger appliances?
Yes, we charge £10.00 per day.
